Marc Scheipe Named New President of Sage North America

Sage North America, has appointed Marc Scheipe as its new president.

Scheipe previously served as interim regional president for the U.K.-based business management software firm that targets small to medium-sized businesses, and will now assume the role of president on a permanent basis, reporting to CEO Stephen Kelly.

Speaking about the February 23 appointment, Kelly said:

“We want to support the ambition of entrepreneurs across North America with brilliant technology, an enduring customer relationship and a thriving ecosystem of partners and accountants. Marc’s leadership has driven great progress with that mission. He has inspiring energy and vision for how we can support businesses and also the communities we work in, and I am pleased to appoint him to the role.”

Mr. Scheipe has been Chief Financial Officer for Sage North America and Interim President of Sage North America since October 8, 2015. In 2016, he led Sage through the first stages of its transformation program to improve efficiency and invest in core service and sales skills.

In December, during the annual results report for fiscal year 2015, Sage announced that strong performance from Sage 50 and payroll solutions for small businesses helped maintain growth in North America. Since the beginning of 2016, Scheipe has continued to lead Sage North America as the region hit financial targets and completed the first stages of its transformation.

At the time of his appointment, Sage Group plc, a supplier of both enterprise resource planning software and integrated accounting, payroll, asset management and payment systems to small businesses, said it had reached 250,000 customers on its cloud products in North America.

Mr. Scheipe boasts extensive experience as a business leader with more than 20 years of financial services experience focused on financial management, strategy development, process improvement and sales/operations leadership.

He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. While serving in the Navy, he attained the rank of lieutenant commander and held various roles in operations, training and maintenance during a 10 year military career.

Moreover, Scheipe is a TOPGUN graduate, Six Sigma Black Belt and FA-18 strike/fighter pilot with 1800 flight hours, 300+ aircraft landings and 36 combat missions over Iraq and Bosnia.
